Award-winning solar module manufacturer REC has announced the launch of the REC TwinPeak 2 Series solar panel.
In addition to the half-cut cell design, PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Cell) technology and split junction box spread across the middle of the module featured in the original TwinPeak, the 2 Series includes cells from larger wafers and 5 busbars, both firsts for the company.
The TwinPeak Series 2 will be available in 275 – 295 watt modules. The panels boast a very impressive efficiency of 17.7% according to REC, slightly higher than the original model.
As with other REC solar panels, REC TwinPeak 2 is 100% free from potential induced degradation (PID). This is an important feature in environments experiencing high temperatures and humidity; such as parts of Australia.
“In an industry where high power output, strong product quality, and company reliability are key purchasing factors, REC and its growing product lineup – now including the REC TwinPeak 2 – is leading the way,” said Cemil Seber, Vice President, Global Marketing and Product Management at REC.
Founded in Norway in 1996, REC has its operational headquarters in Singapore. The company employs more than 2,000 people globally and produces around 1.4 GW of solar panels each year.
While the Twin Peak 2 is not yet available in Australia, other tried and tested workhorses from REC’s stable are – including the original TwinPeak and the Peak Energy Series; a popular module for commercial and home solar installations in Australia.
REC’s Peak Energy Series offers outstanding performance and feature in Energy Matters’ Premium and Platinum range of solar power systems. Energy Matters introduced REC solar products to the Australian residential market in 2010 and was the first REC Solar Professional and Platinum partner in the Asia Pacific.
Accompanying Platinum Partner status are additional benefits for customers who purchase systems through Energy Matters; including an extra 2 years product warranty on REC panels.
Energy Matters’ parent company is also an authorised distributor of REC solar products in Australia and is able to offer competitive wholesale pricing; backed by a company with a decade of experience in the Australian wholesale solar sector.
