Yorke Peninsula in South Australia is set to install a new battery storage system to bolster the state’s grid stability. The installation of the 30 MW grid-scale battery system becomes the second largest energy storage project in the state.
Last month Australian households and businesses installed a total solar capacity of 98MW on their rooftops, making it one of the highest months ever recorded in Australia.
By mid-2017, solar system installations across Australia had increased by 23 percent. Despite this being good news for the renewable industry, the high uptake of rooftop solar has also led to an oversupply of Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs).
Northern Territory solar power systems are part of a multi-million dollar capital works program by the NT government.
