Lake Macquarie City Council in NSW has rolled out its first ever smart solar powered bench on the Warners Bay foreshore, just south of Newcastle. As well as providing seating for up to four adults, the bench comes with wireless and USB connection charging capacity.
The Victorian Government’s plans to install subsidised solar power systems in homes over the next 10 years have been extended to include some homes with pre-existing installations, so-called early adopter solar power systems.
One of South Australia’s biggest rooftop solar arrays will soon provide 20 per cent of Flinders University’s energy needs. The project will see nearly 6,000 solar panels installed on buildings at Flinders’ Bedford Park Campus.
Households and businesses in multi-tenant buildings are set to enjoy lower energy bills through the Victorian Government’s microgrid funding scheme. Three test buildings in Melbourne will consequently benefit from shared solar panel and battery systems under the $2 million project.
