The 2017 solar year has started with average solar power generation prices sitting stable at close to $1.62/W continuing the trend of the previous six months. Smaller sized PV systems between 2.5kW and 2kW are the most expensive to install on a price per watt basis with 5 to 10kW systems offering the best value for money. The most expensive install location is Darwin and the cheapest is Perth, however Darwin gets way more sun than most so in the long run the higher install price may have a quicker payback time.
