Smart Commercial Energy is a North Sydney-based renewable energy company specialising in commercial and industrial energy solutions. Established in 2012 by founder and managing director Huon Hoogesteger, the business began with a focus on helping organisations in regional New South Wales manage rising electricity costs through commercial solar and alternative energy purchasing models.

The company provides services including commercial solar, battery storage, battery monetisation, power purchase agreements and EV charging solutions. Smart Commercial Energy works with businesses to design renewable energy systems aimed at improving financial outcomes while reducing environmental impact. The team is also recognised for its early work in commercial power purchase agreements and its involvement in the development of ClearSky Solar Investments, a not-for-profit social enterprise supporting community-funded solar projects.

Over the years, Smart Commercial Energy has expanded its national presence and worked with clients including HammondCare and Bunnings Warehouse. The company has received industry recognition through awards and nominations, including winning the Australian Innovation Challenge and a Clean Energy Council design award in 2019.
