An ABC Radio National investigation yesterday confirmed what many Queensland solar households have experienced first-hand - ‘network charges’ on Australian electricity bills are among the highest in the world.
Solar households across Queensland reported shock as they opened their electricity bills from July 1 and found out they had been slugged up to $428 per year for ‘fixed’ electricity network charges.

REC has reported on its third quarter results and published forecasts for the global solar panel manufacturing industry.
The company reported quarterly revenues of USD $ 234 million, up 39% compared to Q2 2015 – an all-time high.
REC says it experienced module sales of 361 MW in Q3, with 207 MW of that figure being U.S. activity.
An extended Victorian Government program will enable more business and building owners to borrow money from approved lenders to install solar power systems; with repayments made via their council rates.
The new Environmental Upgrade Agreements were previously only offered by City of Melbourne; but since November 1 have been made available to all local councils across the state.
